My Journey to Georgia

I moved down to Georgia almost five years ago. I move down her to get away from the crazy relationship with my daughters father and of course to better my daughters life. However I will tell you how I managed to go from being a city girl to a country girl. It started after I had my daughter who by the way is 10 years old now.  I was living in Brooklyn, NY with my parents before I decided to move down south.

I am the oldest of nine and I have only 1 brother. Yes, he is the only boy and he was basically picked on by us girls. My dad and mom separated when I was 3 years old and he went to jail for selling drugs. My mom eventually got married when I turned 14 years old. My stepfather and I didn’t get along at first. I was used to being in charge and taking care of my siblings. That passed and we are now closer than ever. Just wanted to give a brief story about my childhood.

Now comes the juicy stuff.. My relationship with my daughters father was a big headache. How we meet and winded up together is a very cute story. We both met while being extra in a movie in a movie called  "The Love of the Game" starring Kevin Costner. We were at Yankee stadium and of course there were thousands of extras minus the actual stars of the movie. Some how this man ,( my daughter’s father) some how stood out from the crowd. I was 18 years old at the time and was not looking for anyone. At the end of the day I was there to make my money wand go home. When I first ssaw him I thought he was the cutest thing ever and I needed to get to know him.The strange thing about this was I really didn't see his face but there was something about him. He sat high up in the bleachers and I was only a couple seats down from him. I will never forget what he had on that day he had on all black include the hat that covered his face. That didn't matter because it was something in my spirit that was drawing me to him. Remember now we were in Yankee Stadium where thousands of other people were. I saw him that one time and I never thought about him because I didnt think I would see him again. The very next  day, I spotted him and instantly I got butterflies in my stomach. How did I know it was him when all I saw was his nose and juicy lips. Beats me but I knew it was him. This time there was no hat and he was wearing a plaid shirt that was brown and orange. He had on  blue jeans and timberland's ( the construction ones) with a afro.  I remember the day we met like it was yesterday and  my heart still skips a beat as I think about it … To be continued
